“Before I came to the work hub I felt very low. I wasn’t sure what direction to go in as I was having to make a complete career change due to my physical health partly caused by my accident. I also had to adjust to the fact that I couldn’t do my previous job anymore.
“I was dreading doing a CV but was able to talk about what I had been doing easily. I found creating my CV with Caroline to be very beneficial and I didn’t realise how easy it was to do once she asked about my skills and job experience, and that fact it has been adapted for different jobs to get different points across. I feel it is the way it has been worded to reflect the person I am, and it reads like a book of my life and I’m proud of it.
“I found the hub very beneficial for searching and applying for new jobs especially as my computer skills are not so good. It boosts my confidence and learning skills of how to present myself on a CV and develop my interview skills. Caroline and Michelle have both helped me apply for jobs.
“I gained a lot of confidence and trust by getting pointed in the right direction learning new skills such as interview skills which made me feel confident when I started to go for interviews.
“I look forward to going to the hub on a Thursday because as well as searching for jobs, it is a good social atmosphere in a friendly environment. It makes me feel better about myself and realise that there is a help out there but you just have to go out and find it.
“I have just been offered a job as a Stable Manager. I had an interview on the Monday and a trial and then they offered me the job. It’s a weight of my shoulders and I’m looking forward getting back into work.
“I’m so grateful for the advice and support you’ve been giving me at the Employment Hub. Here people have given so much help and advice and are so friendly. When you go to the job centre you’re only there for seven minutes and I have to hand write the jobs I have applied for but there’s no feedback and then they are onto the next appointment.”
