Neil Hall

IT Tutor, based BRIC, Blyth

What’s your role in a nutshell?  To assess individuals digital skills and offer support whenever and wherever needed.

Do you have a secret talent for anything?  Yes, but it’s that secret I don’t even know what it is.

What’s the best part of your job?  In my role I meet people from all walks of life with a vast range of digital ability. I find it so rewarding being able to tailor our training to suit their needs and seeing the end results.

What do your colleagues say is your best quality? I asked them when this questionnaire first come out last month and they said they’d have a think and get back to me. Still waiting….

What’s your favourite memory/proudest memory?
I have loads of great memories that spring to mind and some very proud moments. One on the more recent moments was giving up smoking something I never thought I could achieve, but did in the end with ease.

What’s your favourite food? I love cuisine from all over the world especially Italian, but you can’t beat good old mince and dumplings with mashed potato, carrots and peas.

What do you like doing in your spare time? I love spending time with my partner Joanne and our two dogs Riley and Buster II. I come from a large family and spending time with them is very important whether that’s in person or playing Fifa or Fornite with my nephews online.

What advice do you have for people considering joining the programme? I have been through the programme so I feel that I can relate to others on it no matter at what part of the journey they’re on. I was in a place where I knew I wanted to get my life back on track, but didn’t know how. My Bridge work got me help from partners especially coaching from Cygnus and training from BRIC re-igniting my love of all things IT. This all helped me progress and know what direction I wanted to take eventually landing my dream job. I won’t mention any names but you know who you are.
