Food banks

Alnwick District Foodbank

There are two ways to get help from our Food Bank.

  1. A referral from CAB, DWP, Communities Together, MIND, Health Visitor, Social Worker, Probation Service or any other formal Agency. We are happy for this referral to be an e-mail addressed to alnwickdistrictfoodbank@gmail.com Once we have this we can then provide you with the necessary food assistance.
  2. You can self refer by coming in to the food bank. We will ask you to fill in a form and tell us some more about your situation. We can then provide food assistance for up to 2 weeks. Any assistance after that will require a referral; see above.

Cramlington Foodbank

THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP IS TO GET A FOODBANK VOUCHER.

In order to provide the most appropriate help for the circumstances of your situation we work with local agencies. If they feel you are struggling to put food on the table, they will issue you with a foodbank voucher. The local agency can also provide long term support if needed to help address some of the issues behind the reasons for your crisis. Agencies we work with include: Citizens Advice, housing support officers, children’s centres, health visitors, social services and some local charities.
